The new Hormann HS5 868 BS BiSecur, hand held transmitters for opening automatic doors and gates, feature bi-directional FM radio signals that use the same 128 bit encryption employed by banks for online banking security. This system not only makes the transmitters more secure but also means that the signal is more reliable and gives extended operating distances.

Hormann HSE5-868 BS Black remote control replaces the following (old type) Hormann gate remotes:

• HS1/HS2/HS4 868

• HSE2 868

• HSM2/HSM4 868

• HSP4/HSP4-C 868

• HSD2-C/HSD2-A 868

The 5 button hand transmitter can be programmed to support up to four doors, lights or electric gates.

Note: These new handsets are backwards compatible so can be used with all Hörmann automatic operators produced since 2005. This means that a new transmitter can control both a new gate operator and an existing garage door operator. If you have an old type Hörmann remote control working under the frequency 868,3 MHz, you can replace it by BiSecur transmitter but an old type remote control won't work with new type motors with BiSecur system.

HÖRMANN HS5-868-BS BLACK 5-button remote control with an exclusive design, it is powered by a long battery life 1,5 V battery type LR03 / AAA. A distance up to 100 meters, and a range up to 30 meters, local conditions can influence the range of the remote control !

Your motorized gate must be equipped with the BiSecur technology in order to connect with your fob. Another benefit of the new BiSecur system, is that it includes a remote status query. The idea is to ensure that your gate is closed, a simple push of a button will tell you whether your door/gate is open or closed. The multicolour LED light shows red if the door is open and green if is closed. The door can be closed even when out of sight, the LED displays a blue light until the door is closed and then the light turns to green. In this circumstance it is recommended to install an additional photocell for more safety.

The Hormann key fob is available in 1, 2, 4 or 5 buttons and in different colours : classic (black, red, green, purple, orange, grey and yellow) or special (woodgrain or carbon). All theses models are compatible with one another.

Programming of your new remote control:

There are three methods for programming your new remote control

1- Remote-to-remote programming (old model):

• Place an old remote control next to the new one so they touch, press a button on your old remote control.

• Keep the button of your old remote pressed, press the same button on your new remote till the LED light on your new remote control blinks slowly. Wait 5 seconds till the LED light blinks faster.

• Let the button go and repeat the procedure for each button you wish to program.

• Wait 10 seconds, your new remote control is now programmed !

2- Remote-to-remote programming (new model):

• Place your new remote control side by side with the old one, press the button of your old remote till it starts to flash blue and red.

• Release the button on the old remote and press simultaneously the same button on the new one. Hold it till the light flashes slowly. Wait 5 seconds, the light of the remote flashes faster.

• Release the buttons and repeat the programming for each button you want to program.

• Wait 10 seconds, your new remote control is now programmed !

3- Remote-to-remote programming (from old to new model):

• Open the casing of your new remote and take out the battery to prepare the remote for the programming.

• Press the button on your new remote you want to program. Hold the button pressed while you put in the battery again.

• The LED flashes slowly blue and then faster, flashes slowly red and then faster. Now let go the button.

• Your new remote is now prepared for the programming. To program the remote, follow the above steps of “Remote-to-remote programming (old model)”.
